Through the last couple of weeks, the Denver Nuggets have been without the services of big man Juan Hernangomez due to an illness.

However, it appears that the 22-year-old will be able to return to action for the Nuggets over the next few days, according to Aniello Piro of Mile High Sports.

Hernangomez has made three appearances this season in a limited role off the bench averaging 4.7 minutes and has only recorded two missed three-pointers. It is unclear what his playing time will be once he returns, but he will likely battle for playing time behind rising star center Nikola Jokic and All-Star forward Paul Millsap.

In his rookie campaign last year, Hernangomez averaged 4.9 points on 45.1 percent shooting from the field and 40.7 percent from beyond the arc with 3.0 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per contest in 62 games played with nine starts. He proved to be quite productive as a starter averaging 11.3 points on 42.4 percent shooting from the field and 34.9 percent from beyond the arc with 6.1 rebounds, and 1.2 steals in 32.7 minutes per game.

The Nuggets have gotten off to an encouraging start this season currently holding an 8-6 record through the first 14 games played, including winning five out of the last seven contests.
