The Denver Nuggets' injury issues have been well-documented this season. Denver was bit by the injury bug before the season even began and has had to weather a bevy of absences, with eight players currently sidelined due to COVID issues and injury. Given the hits to their depth, Nuggets fans could potentially be seeing a familiar face in Kenneth Faried pretty soon. Faried took a crucial step in his potential return to Denver.

Former Nuggets forward Kenneth Faried is joining Denver's G-League affiliate, the Grand Rapids Gold, per Shams Charania of The Athletic. An eight-year NBA veteran, Faried last played in 2019-20 for the Brooklyn Nets and Houston Rockets, before taking his talents to China to play for the Zhenjiang Lions, who reportedly bought out his contract.

Faried made a name for himself with the Nuggets, as he made the All-Rookie team in the 2011-12 season, averaging 10.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game while shooting 58.6 percent from the field.

The former Nuggets forward put on a clinic in the 2013 Rising Stars game, as he was named the contest's MVP after dropping 40 points. Faried seemingly never found that All-Star level form but went on to have a solid career in Denver, where he emerged as an energetic paint presence.

Faried isn't in Denver yet but joining the team's G-League affiliate could be the first step towards him ultimately donning Nuggets threads again. Nuggets fans could potentially be seeing Kenneth Faried on the court again soon.
