Denver Nuggets youngster Michael Porter Jr. is having a lot of fun playing with All-Star big man Nikola Jokic this season.

Jokic is one of the best passers in the NBA from the big man position and loves to get his teammates involved in the game early on, something Porter really appreciates:

“I love playing with Nikola,” Porter said, via Nick Kosmider of The Athletic. “He just has this, like, calming (effect). When you’re on the court with him, it’s just calm. You know he’s going to make the right play. You don’t have to worry too much.”

The Nuggets are 30-13 on the season, which is good for third place in the Western Conference standings. Both Porter and Jokic are playing at a high level for Denver at the moment. The Nuggets are 7-3 in their last 10 games.

Porter has appeared in 34 games this season. He's averaging 7.2 points and 3.7 rebounds. Over his last 10 games, Porter is putting up 11.8 points per game while shooting 60.5 percent from the field and 46.2 percent from beyond the arc.

Jokic, the Nuggets' franchise cornerstone, is having another stellar season. The 24-year-old is averaging 19.4 points, 10.0 rebounds and 6.3 assists in 43 games and shooting 51.2 percent overall, 32.9 percent from the 3-point line and 79.2 percent from the charity stripe. Jokic has 24 double-doubles and seven triple-doubles.

The Nuggets will ultimately go as far as Nikola Jokic can lead them, but the emergence of Michael Porter Jr. as a lethal scorer will come in handy once the playoffs start.
