Denver Nuggets star big man Nikola Jokic expects small forward Michael Porter Jr. to help Denver's offense immensely this season.

Porter will make his NBA debut for the Nuggets this season after missing his entire rookie year recovering from back surgery.

Nikola Jokic can't wait to see the youngster in action.

“He’s a really good shooter, he can post up guys, he can go by guys, he’s a really talented player,” Jokic said, via Mike Singer of the Denver Post. “We didn’t have a player like that just size-wise (last year). … You can see he’s attacking the basket. He’s just going to the ball, like he’s bullying people. He’s gonna be really good.”

Michael Porter Jr. has undergone two back surgeries, one in college and the other after Denver drafted him with the 14th overall pick in the 2018 NBA Draft. Porter's camp said the second surgery was good for Porter in the long run.

When he was in high school, Porter was arguably the best player in the country and NBA execs pegged him as the No. 1 draft prospect for the 2018 Draft. Then the back surgery happened while Porter was at the University of Missouri and his draft stock dropped.

Porter's agent, Mark Bartelstein, delivered detailed information to teams on Porter's back ahead of the 2018 draft. The medical report which Bartlestein gave teams caused major concern and that’s why Porter fell to the Nuggets.

There are some, though, who believe the Nuggets may have gotten a steal in Porter, because when he’s healthy, he could turn out to be the best scorer and shooter from the 2018 draft class.
