There's something to be said of this next generation of superstars and the loyalty they possess. In an era defined by player movement, the league's top MVP candidates of the past few years have stuck with the teams that drafted them. Reigning MVP Nikola Jokic wants to follow that lead with the Denver Nuggets.

Asked about his contract situation with the Nuggets following their first-round exit against the Golden State Warriors, Nikola Jokic was candid in that he's ready to put pen to paper on a supermax contract this offseason.

Via Mike Singer of The Denver Post:

“If offer’s on the table, of course, I’m gonna accept it because I really like the organization,” said Jokic following the Nuggets’ Game 5 loss to Golden State. “I really like the people who work here.”

Nikola Jokic has arguably been the best find in Nuggets franchise history. When you weigh expectations coming in, the lack of off-court drama, and MVP-level production without a checkered injury history, he has been everything you want and more from a franchise superstar. The best part is Jokic truly believes in the team he plays for:

“I think we have something that we are building,” the Nuggets star continued.

The Nuggets haven't been as fortunate with injuries with Nikola Jokic's co-stars in Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. But the Joker's faith in the franchise hasn't wavered. He's in it for the long haul and is in line to get a massive $254 million supermax contract.
