Nikola Jokic did his usual work on Wednesday by leading the Denver Nuggets to a victory over the New York Knicks. Apart from producing more MVP numbers, he also surprised many by dunking the ball four times. This seemed like a landmark achievement for him. So much so that he concocted a name.

In the postgame interview, Jokic strangely labeled his dunks as “tiger dunks” then proceeded to describe what it means through a lousy yet amusing reenactment (via Nuggets reporter Katy Winge).

As expected, the Internet rode with Jokic's new description. In the coming months, expect to see Jokic memes with tigers. Of course, Tiger King should be an easy one. Remember him?

Jokic seems to have a penchant for inventing names for his signature moves. Before naming his dunks as “tiger dunks,” he called his one-legged jump shot the “Sombor Shuffle” in honor of his home city in Serbia.

Moving forward, expect commentators to include “tiger dunks” in their play-by-play coverage of Nuggets games. Jokic rarely dunks. But when he does, you might hear quite a roar.

The NBA Playoffs are just around the corner and many believe that the Nuggets are in for another deep run. It's unfortunate that they'll be missing the services of Jamal Murray due to an ACL injury, while Will Barton remains out indefinitely. Their services will be sorely missed, especially with the Nuggets backcourt already lacking firepower.

But luckily for them, they have Nikola Jokic and his “tiger dunks.” And from where the Nuggets stand right now, they seem to have a good chance at making it all the way to the Western Conference Finals.
