Denver Nuggets big man Nikola Jokic enters Saturday averaging 7.7 assists per game. If the Nuggets' star center can keep this up and finish the entire season averaging more than seven assists per game, Jokic will join the legendary Wilt Chamberlain as the only seven-footers in NBA history to average 7+ assists per game during a single-season.

Wilt Chamberlain averaged 8.6 assists per game during the 1967-68 season and 7.8 in 1966-67.

Nikola Jokic is by far the best passing big man in the NBA. The Nuggets' offense runs primarily through him. The 23-year-old has a usage rate of 24.8 this year. Usage percentage is an estimate of the percentage of team plays used by a player while he was on the floor.

Besides his high assist numbers, Nikola Jokic is also averaging 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field, 29.2 percent from beyond the arc and 82.5 percent from the free-throw line. Denver is 17-8 on the year, first place in the rugged Western Conference and Jokic's stellar play is the main reason why.

Nikola Jokic already has two triple-doubles on the season. He's dished out double-digit assists seven times in 25 starts. Those are really impressive numbers for a center. It's going to be fascinating to watch if Nikola Jokic can keep this up for the whole season and put his name next to Wilt Chamberlain.
