On Wednesday night, Denver Nuggets big man Mason Plumlee got into a scuffle with Utah Jazz big man Derrick Favors, and during the fracas, Nuggets star Nikola Jokic left the bench. And that means Jokic is likely facing a suspension.

Jokic entered Wednesday night's action averaging 19.6 points, 10 rebounds, 7.7 assists and 1.3 steals over 31 minutes per game. He's shooting 50.5 percent from the floor, 32.3 percent from three-point range, and 84.2 percent from the free-throw line.

As a result of Jokic's magnificent performance thus far this season, he seems poised to make his first All-Star appearance. The 23-year-old, who came over to the NBA from Serbia, was originally selected by the Nuggets in the second round (41st pick overall) of the 2014 NBA Draft.

It seems safe to say that Jokic is on his way to becoming one of the biggest second-round steals in the history of the league.

During his rookie campaign, the seven-footer played in 80 games and made 55 starts, registering 10 points, seven boards, 2.4 assists, and one block across 21.7 minutes a night while making 51.2 percent of his field-goal attempts, 33.3 percent of his long-distance tries and 81.1 percent of his foul shots.

He followed that up by recording 16.7 points, 9.8 rebounds and 4.9 assists per game during his second season, and last year, Jokic averaged his first double-double with 18.5 points, 10.7 rebounds, 6.1 assists and 1.2 steals a night. The Nuggets have been one of the most pleasant surprises in the NBA this season and entered Wednesday evening with a record of 31-14. They sit in second place in the Western Conference standings.
