If there's any player who deserves some rest this season, it's MVP frontrunner Nikola Jokic. After all, The Joker has pretty much put the entire Denver Nuggets on his back this season, especially as of late when some of his teammates dealt with serious injuries.

With the regular season winding down, Nuggets head coach Mike Malone revealed his plans to give Jokic a breather to preserve his legs come playoff time. Denver can certainly afford to do so, as they currently sit fourth place in the Western Conference with a 42-21 slate, following their 121-111 win over the Toronto Raptors at Ball Arena on Thursday.

Most superstar players would jump at the chance of an excused load management. Jokic, however, comes from a rare breed since he doesn't want to sit games at all for the Nuggets, as Malone revealed per Katy Winge of Altitude TV.

Now that's a gut who definitely wants to be on the court as much as possible. Nikola Jokic actually had a short night for his standards against Toronto, logging in just 28 minutes in their dominant win. The Serbian superstar produced his all-around numbers across the board for the Nuggets, recording 19 points, 11 rebounds, two assists, and one steal, while going 8-for-13 from the field including two made triples.

The Nuggets are indeed shorthanded at the moment following Jamal Murray's season-ending ACL tear and Will Barton's recent hamstring injury.

It will be in the best interest of the Nuggets to keep Jokic healthy in order to make another deep playoff run in the West. But by the looks of it, don't expect Nikola Jokic to slow down anytime soon.
