The 2019 FIBA World Cup is slated to take place on September, but Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets is unsure whether he'll play for Serbia.

Per Katy Winge of Altitude TV, his decision to play for the Serbian national team would depend on his health and what his family and agent would advise.

The 24-year-old is also concerned about the number of games he would play in the tournament. Though it would give him tons of experience, Jokic seems to prioritize his individual health and well-being. After all, the Nuggets were just a game away from reaching the Western Conference Finals.

Sure enough, Denver would do anything it takes to keep Jokic away from injury.

Jokic has a history of skipping international tourneys in the past. He skipped the 2017 EuroBasket and opted to spend the offseason doing individual workouts in Serbia. He also didn’t play in the World Cup Qualifiers.

The 2016 Olympic games are the only major tourney he joined. He led the Serbian squad to a silver place finish as they succumbed to Team USA in the finals.

For now, Serbian fans just need to patiently wait on Jokic's decision. The good thing is that his doors remain open on the possibility of donning the Serbian basketball jersey.
