It has been just over three weeks since Denver Nuggets All-Star forward Paul Millsap was declared out due to surgery on his left wrist.

It was initially anticipated that he would make his return from the injury at some point after the All-Star break. However, it appears Millsap is looking to significantly beat that timetable, according to Adam Mares of SB Nation.

The 32-year-old is likely chomping at the bit to get back on the court in his recovery from wrist surgery. It may especially be the case with the Nuggets off to an encouraging start, holding a 16-13 record through the first 29 games, which has put them with the sixth-best record in the Western Conference.

Millsap had quickly found his niche through the first 16 games played with Denver, averaging 15.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. He had established himself as one of the go-to options offensively while gelling smoothly into the fold.

Although Millsap is pushing himself to get back sooner than expected, it's an injury that could be difficult in expediting the recovery given its location on his body. If he's able to regain his strength and stability in his wrist, then he may be able to shorten the timetable for his return.

Ultimately, the fact that Millsap is progressing through his recovery should be a positive sign of what could be ahead in the coming weeks.
