Denver Nuggets power forward Paul Millsap feels his current team in the Mile High City gives him the best shot at winning an NBA championship.

Millsap and the Nuggets lost to the Portland Trail Blazers in the second round of the playoffs in seven games. The former All-Star has a club option worth $30 million for next season.

It was a great season for the Nuggets, who made the playoffs for the first time since 2013. Millsap averaged 12.6 points, 7.2 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game in the regular season while shooting 48.4 percent from the field, 36.5 percent from beyond the arc and 72.7 percent from the free-throw line.

In the playoffs, Millsap put up 14.6 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks. He and star center Nikola Jokic form a deadly frontcourt which gives the Nuggets a chance to compete every single night in the rugged Western Conference.

The Nuggets' season didn't end how they wanted it to, but the players should still be proud of the campaign they had. No one thought Denver was going to be the No. 2 seed in the West this season. It shows that the guys on the team believe in head coach Michael Malone and each other.

It would be surprising to see the Nuggets not pick up Millsap's 2019-20 option, but in the business of the NBA, you never know what can happen.
