Denver Nuggets big man Paul Millsap is “super proud” of point guard Jamal Murray, whom he called his ‘little brother.'

Millsap says Murray's game has developed so much since last season, and it's a big reason why the Nuggets were able to get the No. 2 seed in the rugged Western Conference this campaign.

A four-time All-Star, Millsap believes Murray is starting to understand the game better instead of just focusing on scoring all the time.

“The main thing is just playing the game,” Paul Millsap said, via Michael Singer of the Denver Post. “Not getting focused on what people want him to do but just playing the game. Seeing him having 19 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds instead of focusing in on just scoring and trying to be going for 50 every single night. He’s actually playing the game now, and I’m super proud of him by how far he’s come.

“He’s like a little brother to me. We talk all the time.”

The Nuggets and San Antonio Spurs are tied at 2-2 in the first round. Jamal Murray struggled in Games 1 and 3, but he was superb in Games 2 and 4.

Overall in the series, Murray is averaging 17.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 3.0 assists while shooting 42.6 percent from the field and 36.8 percent from beyond the arc. The Nuggets will look to take a 3-2 series lead in Game 5 on  Tuesday.
