Denver Nuggets All-Star forward Paul Millsap exited Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers after he suffered a sprained left wrist.

According to Chris Haynes of ESPN, the Nuggets dodged a major bullet as the x-rays of the injury came back negative.

The 32-year-old has already been declared out for Monday's tilt against the Sacramento Kings, which was the second game of back-to-backs for the Nuggets. The Nuggets may turn to Kenneth Faried to get the spot start and possibly a few more games after that as Millsap recovers from the injury.

The loss of Millsap for an extended period of time would have been quite damaging for the Nuggets as he has fit quite smoothly as one of their top scoring options. He is currently averaging 15.3 points on 44.6 percent shooting from the field and 34.5 percent from beyond the arc with 6.2 rebounds, 3.1 assists, 1.3 blocks, and 1.1 steals in the first 16 games played.

Denver has gotten off to a promising start holding a 9-7 record, which is currently tied for the fifth-best mark in the Western Conference. They have a heavy slate of games ahead over the next week with three games over the span of five days and five over the next 11 days.

Millsap is currently in the first year of his three-year, $90 million that includes a $30 million club option for the 2019-20 campaign.
