Denver Nuggets rookie Michael Porter Jr. broke the internet on Tuesday when he said the coronavirus pandemic is being overblown.

Porter was responding to a question on Snapchat and said he's never been vaccinated in his life.

The Nuggets youngster is now getting ripped for his controversial statements on Twitter and it appears Snapchat is doing all it can to quiet the firestorm.

Nuggets head coach Michael Malone told reporters on Wednesday he learned about Porter's comments on Snapchat as he was on the bus ride over to practice. Nuggets president Tim Connelly has addressed Porter's comments with the small forward.

Players need to understand the ramifications of things they say, but it doesn't appear the Nuggets are going to stop their players from sharing their beliefs, no matter how controversial they are.

Luckily for Porter, there aren't any fans at the games in Orlando, so he's not going to get booed during the bubble games. That would have likely been the case if there were fans at the games since the coronavirus has killed so many people in America and it sounds like Porter isn't taking it seriously.

Minnesota Timberwolves star big man Karl-Anthony Towns tragically lost his mom to COVID-19. Porter's teammate, Nuggets All-Star Nikola Jokic, contracted the virus as well.
