Denver Nuggets injured swingman Will Barton says big man Nikola Jokic is not in a slump, but that the 23-year-old is just not shooting the ball.

Jokic has scored in single digits the last four games and has taken a total of 18 shots. The strangest stat line came in the Nuggets' loss to the Memphis Grizzlies, a game in which Nikola Jokic only took one shot the entire game. He played 25 minutes and finished with four points.

Barton, who is currently out with a hip injury after undergoing surgery in October, says Nikola Jokic needs to start looking at the basket more and be aggressive:

Nikola Jokic is the Nuggets' best player. Under no circumstances can he only shoot the ball once in a game. Denver gave him a five-year max contract over the summer to be a dominant force, not a passive player.

On the season, Jokic is averaging 15.8 points, 9.7 rebounds and 7.4 assists while shooting 51.8 percent from the field, 36.7 percent from beyond the arc and 83.9 percent from the free-throw line. The Nuggets are 9-2 through 12 games.

Denver takes on the Brooklyn Nets Friday. Let's see if Nikola Jokic listened to Will Barton and will be assertive against a 5-6 Nets team.
