The Denver Nuggets are in the City of Brotherly Love Monday to play the Philadelphia 76ers, but Nuggets guard Jamal Murray made it clear early in the game that he has no time for being friendly.

In one particular play during the first few minutes of the contest, Murray ran the down the floor, making a smooth behind-the-back dribble before crossing the half-court line to avoid Joel Embiid before skying high for a violent throwdown right in the face of Sixers guard JJ Redick.

Any Kentucky Wildcats fan surely would get a kick out of this dunk from Murray over a former Duke Blue Devil. JJ Redick simply did not have a real chance of stopping Murray from including him on his poster and ever-expanding highlight reel montage. Redick has never been known as an elite stopper on transition let alone someone who has the athleticism to challenge high-flying dudes midair. He probably lifted himself just four inches above the ground, and that’s probably the most we could expect of Redick’s vertical prowess.

If it’s any consolation for Redick, though, at least his Sixers team is a lock to play in this year’s playoffs. Philadelphia began Monday with a 42-30 record, which is currently good for third in the Eastern Conference. As for the Nuggets, they entered the Sixers ball game trailing the Utah Jazz by 1.5 games for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Western Conference.

Denver could cut into the Jazz’s lead with a win in Philadelphia and also give the Nuggets momentum for an upcoming marquee matchup with the Toronto Raptors north of the border this Tuesday.
