The Los Angeles Clippers had the last laugh when they played the Denver Nuggets at Staples Center on Friday, but Nikola Jokic didn't go down without a fight.

Jokic did everything in his power to cut down the Clippers' insurmountable lead that ended in a 132-103 loss. His incredible one-legged step-back late in the third quarter of the game was a show of his efforts to lead the team during a losing battle.

The fact that Jokic made the shot on the left and against one of the best defenders in Kawhi Leonard only makes the feat all the more impressive.

Here's another angle of the play:

Nikola Jokic failed to trim the Clippers' lead in the end, but he had a great outing for the Nuggets. He finished with 21 points, nine rebounds, two assists and a steal. He played with a resilient mentality that would remind fans of how Kobe used to play his games.

The shot was a great play and a terrific tribute for Bryant.
