Steph Curry has garnered a lot of attention over the passed to seasons after finishing with back-to-back MVP awards and an NBA championship with potentially another on the way. All this while leading his team to a record 73 wins in the 2015-16 regular season.

The piling list of achievements has other general managers taking notice. And not in the sport you might think.

When asked if he would take a chance on Curry for his baseball team, San Francisco Giants general manager Bobby Evans stated bluntly, “I will take him,” according to the San Francisco Chronicle’s John Shea.

Then, Oakland Athletics assistant general manager David Forst cited Curry’s natural athleticism and hand-eye coordination as traits that would translate well to all sports.

“I'm sure it's not surprising to you, but I think Steph would excel at anything he does, including baseball,” he said. “I could imagine him covering a ton of ground in center field, with his instincts for the ball helping him get great jumps off the bat.

“There are a lot of similarities in the way a point guard anticipates where his guys and the defenders are going to be and how a defensive player in baseball anticipates where the ball is going to be off the bat. I see him being a high-contact, leadoff-type hitter with his incredible hand-eye coordination, and he's a lot stronger than I think most people give him credit for. He'd have a chance to surprise with a few home runs out of the leadoff spot.”

While no one expects Steph to be leaving the NBA any time soon, it’s always fun to think about what stars in one sport could do in another sport. Not that I’d want to see Steph play football.
