Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James is not one to easily forget, especially when it comes to his favorite college football team, the Ohio State Buckeyes.

After the Buckeyes blew out Dabo Swinney's Clemson Tigers in their Sugar Bowl matchup, 48-29, LeBron made sure to remind the head coach where he ranked his hometown team before the showdown.

To recall, in the Amway Coaches Poll last December, Swinney ranked Ohio State as the 11th best team in College football, putting Alabama, Notre Dame, Texas A&M, Florida, Georgia, Cincinnati, Oklahoma, Iowa State and Coastal Carolina above them. He even put his Tigers at No.2

For what it's worth, most of the other coaches in the poll ranked Ohio State at no.3 or in their Top 5s. Only one other coach put the Buckeyes outside the five best college football programs, with Kirby Smart of Georgia putting them at No.6.

Ohio State was ranked No.3 in the College Football Playoff rankings, which was also the reason the team made the playoffs

Perhaps the ranking fueled Ohio State to prove Swinney wrong, and their massive victory to advance to the national title game is certainly a strong statement that they are better than what the Clemson coach rated them.

For his part, LeBron James was ecstatic after witnessing the Buckeyes demolish the Tigers in the Superdome. He even gave a shoutout to quarterback Justin Fields, whom the Lakers superstar called a “special” talent.
