Luka Doncic was arguably the MVP among all basketball rosters at the Tokyo Olympics. But even his superhuman abilities weren't enough to overcome a stacked Australian team during the bronze medal game, falling 93-107.

Doncic was understandably in tears as the loss started to sink in for him and his Slovenian teammates:

Doncic was solid for Slovenia, posting 22 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. But the Dallas Mavericks wunderkind was terribly inefficient from the three-point arc. He made just three of his 13 attempts from long distance and also had eight turnovers throughout the contest.

Australia's personnel was just too much for Luka Doncic. They had the perfect defensive weapon in Matisse Thybulle to bother Doncic and force errors all night long. He was also thoroughly outperformed by another international hoops superstar in Patty Mills. The veteran NBA guard erupted for 42 points in a sight that should have Brooklyn Nets fans excited for their latest offseason addition.

The loss marks Luka Doncic's second consecutive international defeat, the only two of his entire career. But Doncic is just 22 years old and still has his best basketball ahead of him. It's a safe bet there will be an Olympic medal sometime in his future.
