The Golden State Warriors added another piece to the puzzle on Tuesday afternoon with the signing of free agent forward Omri Casspi on a one-year deal.

In light of that move, Casspi voiced his first comments stating that he received text messages from 2017 NBA Finals MVP Kevin Durant and head coach Steve Kerr.

The 29-year-old is joining a team fresh off a second NBA title in the last three years with an opportunity to add another next season with almost all of the roster back under contract. He will likely play with the second unit group led by proven veterans in Shaun Livingston, Andre Iguodala, David West, and now Nick Young, who signed a one-year, $5.2 million deal on Wednesday morning.

Throughout his first eight years in the league, Casspi has played in various roles both in the starting lineup and coming off the bench. His versatility to play both forward positions and ability to be an effective shooter from beyond the arc will be most utilized with the Warriors next season in their uptempo and free-flowing offense.

In his career, Casspi is averaging 8.2 on 44.3 percent shooting from the field and 36.7 percent from beyond the arc along with 4.1 rebounds in 21.4 minutes per game.
