On Sunday, the AFC West title race was all but wrapped up after the Kansas City Chiefs, led by Patrick Mahomes, defeated the Las Vegas Raiders. Mahomes took advantage of a flaw in the execution of the Raiders game plan. They left him too much time.

The comeback was inevitable according to Kyle Tracy and Chris Clark, the hosts of the daily Locked On Chiefs podcast when Mahomes took over with the ball with over a minute and a half left in the fourth quarter. They were joined by Matt Derric to talk about the major clock mishap by the Raiders.

Tracy: All game long we watched them (the Chiefs) take the under, we watched them have some mistakes. There were a lot of penalties in this game, which is a little unfortunate, Matt. But they got together in the last minute and fifty-four seconds. That’s what you just can’t let Patrick Mahomes do to you, right?

Derric: Yeah. You just can’t do that. There weren’t a whole lot of ways for the Raiders to stretch out that game at the end. The Chiefs probably did their best on defense to let the Raiders run a little bit of clock, but you know what, they got down to the goal line. They were kind of in no-man’s land. They had to pretty much put it in at that point and yeah, they leave these Chiefs with some time. I don’t know how much time you can leave Patrick Mahomes, what, a minute fifty-four? No. That is way too much time to leave him.
