It's hard to complain much about what the Washington Redskins have been able to do this offseason.

They made the big free agent splash with the signing of safety Landon Collins. He should solidify their secondary.

Then they went to the NFL Draft and got a franchise quarterback (Dwayne Haskins) as well as an elite pass rusher (Montez Sweat) who makes their front seven one of the best in football.

Washington even added Terry McLaurin at wide receiver and Jimmy Moreland at cornerback, who could both make waves. The Redskins drafted two offensive linemen (Wes Martin and Ross Pierschbacher) who could fight for a role as well.

However, if they want to make this an A+ offseason, there are still some things they could do. One free agency signing in particular could really push the Washington Redskins over the top.

The answer is pretty simple when you break everything down.

It all starts with an obvious question. What position do the Washington Redskins need to shore up the most?

Linebackers and the defensive line are set. Running backs are too. They have a young QB with veterans around him. The offensive line isn't perfect but could be a lot worse. Tight ends have injury concerns, but when healthy, Jordan Reed and Vernon Davis form a deadly duo. The secondary isn't perfect either but has a lot of solid pieces.

That leaves wide receiver. Last season Josh Doctson was the star of the bunch – and that wasn't a good thing. He is set to be their main piece again. Adding McLaurin was good, and a healthy Trey Quinn could be great in the slot. Kelvin Harmon could also be a fantastic late-round addition to the position.

That being said, Washington lost Jamison Crowder so it's a wash.

Now the next question is, what do they need from the position?

The Redskins sorely need a veteran receiver they can trust in big moments.

You could argue they have Paul Richardson, but he wasn't exactly killing it last year before going down due to injury. There's no guarantee he's going to be the go-to guy.

Doctson improved last season, but the Redskins shouldn't be banking on him taking another massive leap forward.

That leads us to two names in free agency. Michael Crabtree and Pierre Garcon.

The final question is, whom should they go after?

Again, pretty easy. Crabtree has been better the last few seasons, but Garcon is the answer here.

For one thing, Garcon will likely be cheaper after suffering an injury to end his season in 2018. Then there's the fact that he spent five years with the Redskins, including his three best seasons in the NFL.

Garcon is familiar with the team and current staff, as he was there for two years with head coach Jay Gruden. Those two years were two of his three best seasons with the team.

Garcon is a great route runner and an absolute bruiser with sure hands. When he was last with the Redskins he could take a short pass 80 yards, or go deep and haul in a long grab. Most importantly, Garcon was never afraid to go across the middle and sacrifice by taking a hit to make the catch.

That sounds like the kind player they could use to help their rookie quarterback: a safety net.

Pierre Garcon isn't the receiver he was back in 2013 when he racked up 113 receptions for 1,346 yards. He could still be a positive influence on a young receiver corps, though. Garcon brings a lot of energy and talent even at 33 (which he will be when the new season starts).

If the Washington Redskins were smart, they'd start working on a deal with him sooner rather than later.
