The Los Angeles Chargers have found their quarterback of the future. The next step is to get him some help. The Chargers should look to take care of their franchise quarterback by making an upgrade on the offensive line.

On Locked On NFL Draft, Benjamin Solak and Trevor Sikkema conducted a mock draft where they had a surprising name enter the top five:

Solak: Anyway, Chargers at five. Interesting class. There’s a move, and I cannot remember who made it or if it was you or somebody else, but a pick that I really like here, and it was an aggressive one and people will consider it a reach, but it is really good for the Chargers. That is Rashawn Slater, an offensive tackle out of Northwestern. It is top five, so it is worrisome, but if you think about the reaction when Brandon Scherff was taken out of Iowa by Washington about pick five or pick six not too long ago, and then the conversation about what sort of guard he would have to become in order to warrant the value of the pick. That was not the same conversation around Quenton Nelson, who is viewed truly as a generational guard prospect coming out of Notre Dame. Slater is a tackle that will potentially be moving inside to guard if you are going to play him in Los Angeles where they desperately need guard help. They may also still need tackle help. You might want to start him there, which kind of makes the pick a little easier to justify in the value column. He is a tremendous player. An exciting guy who was another early opt-out.
