Was the Baltimore Ravens' season a success? They finished 14-2 and as the No. 1 seed in the AFC. Baltimore had the unanimous MVP of the league under center in Lamar Jackson who led the team to a league-leading 33.2 points per game. After all that, their season ended in the Divisional Round with a 28-12 loss to the Tennessee Titans.

This season did not end in a Super Bowl for the Ravens but next season very well could. They are a team that is in a position to get better. Baltimore is in need of a pass rusher and Ryan Kerrigan could be on their radar. The Washington Redskins have a chance to add Chase Young which would give them a young defensive line across the board. Kerrigan would give the Ravens what they need.

Adding Kerrigan would also give Baltimore options with Matthew Judon. The fourth year linebacker is coming off a Pro Bowl season where he was the leader of the Ravens' defense. Losing Judon would be a blow to the Ravens' front-seven, but it is still in the cards because of his value.

Could Baltimore actually move Judon?

Matthew Judon is set to become an unrestricted free agent in March. The Ravens and Judon have not come to terms on a long-term agreement yet and it is unknown if they will. The Ravens have options because of Judon's worth.

The main option that has been discussed is a tag-and-trade. If the Ravens chose to tag Judon, he would cost around $16.2 million in cap space. If they tagged him and then traded him, Baltimore would not have any dead money because the team acquiring Judon would take on the tender. Judon would have to sign the franchise tag for this to happen.

With this option, Baltimore would get valuable assets for a 28-year old Pro Bowler. This would also give them a chance to sign a premiere pass rusher. Players like Jadeveon Clowney and Yannick Ngakoue will be available in free agency and have a high price tag. Baltimore could not afford one of these players with Judon playing under the franchise tag.

The Ravens are a team in a very good situation. They have their franchise quarterback in place and are expected to contend for many years. On the defensive side, they have options and can play it out in many ways. Whether they chose to keep Judon or not, they will be set up well either way.
