Before the 2019-20 season was suspended, the Cleveland Cavaliers had the worst record in the Eastern Conference and the second-worst record in the NBA. The Cavs were just 19-46, with the franchise quickly reverting back to their losing ways in the second post-LeBron James era.

Since LeBron left for the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2018, four different coaches have coached the Cavs: Tyronn Lue, Larry Drew, John Beilein, and J.B. Bickerstaff. Beilein was a disaster for the Wine and Gold in the 2019-20 season before he decided to part ways with the team during the All-Star break.

It took Bickerstaff less than 11 games to earn an extension from Cavs owner Dan Gilbert and general manager Koby Altman. Bickerstaff went 5-6 after taking over for Beilen.

If the 2019-20 season gets canceled, Cavs general manager Koby Altman will have a lot on his plate. He will likely try and trade Kevin Love again after failing to move the All-Star big man at the 2020 trade deadline. New center Andre Drummond is expected to pick up his player option, so Altman is gearing toward building the franchise around the big man, Collin Sexton, Darius Garland, Larry Nance Jr., Cedi Osman and Kevin Porter Jr.

One player the Cavs should take a chance on in free agency, however, is Sacramento Kings unrestricted free agent Harry Giles. He's another young athlete who could benefit from a change in scenery. Giles has loads of potential and was a monster in high school, but knee injuries severely affected his draft stock.

Giles was the 20th overall pick in 2017 by the Kings. He was once projected to go No. 1 overall, but that was before his knee surgeries. The 22-year-old still has tremendous upside though, and the Cavs should take a chance on the young stud and let him grow with Sexton, Garland, Nance, Osman and Porter.

In 96 NBA games for the Kings, Giles has averages of 7.0 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.4 assists. He can explode to the basket and has some fairly polished post moves for a youngster. If the Cavs get their hands on Giles, they would have loads of potential to unlock.

Right now, the Cavs just have a team full of guys running around with no clear identity. That should change moving forward under Bickerstaff, but Altman has to give J.B. the proper personnel to work with.

Assuming the franchise trades Love and lets Tristan Thompson walk in free agency, their starting lineup for next season could feature Sexton, Garland, Osman, and Drummond. The Cavs could sign Giles to be their fifth starter and pair him with Drummond in the frontcourt, giving Cleveland two dynamic bigs who can run with the best of them on the fast break and finish in heavy traffic.

His assist numbers won't show it, but Giles is a good passer from the big position. He has to improve his jumper and become more of a floor spacer if he wants to see more minutes, whether that's in Sacramento, Cleveland, or somewhere else. Giles' range hasn't even reached the 3-point line yet, so that will have to change moving forward as well.

The Cavs have a lot of work to do to even become a playoff team in the East again. They have a talented core and finally a competent coach. The moves Altman makes will decide if Cleveland becomes a winner again.

It's not a flashy move, but signing Harry Giles would give the Cavs an asset they can mold and possibly turn into a star.
