With the 2020 NFL season right around the corner, the Green Bay Packers are hoping to make another run similar to what they made last season. After an impressive 13-3 regular season, the Packers made it all the way to the NFC Championship Game before getting blown out by the San Francisco 49ers by a final score of 37-20.

Aaron Rodgers and company are coming into this season with big expectations. The media, however, is widely expecting a season full of regression for the Packers.

Fans were very disappointed with the offseason that general manager Brian Gutekunst put together. Green Bay didn't make any major moves in free agency and the big offensive addition they did make, Devin Funchess, opted out of the season due to concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Due to Funchess' decision to opt out, the Packers are very thin at wide receiver. Davante Adams is a bonafide superstar, but behind him, there are a lot of question marks.

At this point in time, the Packers have Allen Lazard listed as their No. 2 wideout once again. Marquez Valdes-Scantling is fresh off of a disappointing season and no one knows what to expect from him. Behind those two guys, Equanimeous St. Brown is an intriguing talent, but he is extremely unproven.

If the Packers want to make a late offseason move, a trade will be the best way to do it. Thankfully, there are a few wide receivers that could be available on the trade market.

With all of that being said, let's take a look at the one trade the Packers should consider making ahead of the season.

Who Should The Packers Look To Acquire Before The Season?

There is one option that would be a perfect fit for what the Packers are needing. That player would be Houston Texans wide receiver Kenny Stills. He isn't the biggest name to target, but his fit would be absolutely ideal.

Stills was acquired by the Texans last offseason in a trade with the Miami Dolphins. While he is a talented player, the Texans simply don't have a place for him. They moved on from DeAndre Hopkins in a shocking blockbuster trade with the Arizona Cardinals, but they brought in both Randall Cobb and Brandin Cooks to replace him.

In addition to Cobb and Cooks, the Texans still have Will Fuller on the roster. They could choose to keep Stills, but moving him for a mid-round draft pick would be a smart move for their future. Bill O'Brien has proven that he loves to stock up on picks.

Should the Packers be willing to offer up a fourth-round pick, securing a deal for Stills would be a real possibility. Stills brings a lot of speed to the field, which is exactly what Matt LaFleur was missing in his offense last season. He could end up being a very nice slot wideout for Rodgers to work with.

During the 2019 season with Houston, Stills ended up catching 40 passes for 561 yards and four touchdowns. He didn't put up huge numbers, but they were serviceable and his role would be bigger with the Packers.

On the plus side for the Packers, if Stills doesn't work out, they are only on the hook for one season. Stills has a contract that ends following the 2020 season. If he works out and fits nicely, the Packers could bring him back next offseason with a new deal.

At 28 years of age, Stills still has some good football left in him. His speed could very well make him a dynamic playmaker. In fact, he might even be able to steal the No. 2 wide receiver role from Lazard.

Green Bay may choose to stand pat and see what their current wide receiver room is capable of producing. Gutekunst made it clear by not bringing in a wide receiver in the 2020 NFL Draft that he likes the young talent they have at the position. However, he has also made it clear that he will do anything he possibly can to improve the Packers' roster.

It will be interesting to see if the Packers look to make a move. They might look into free agency to bring in a wide receiver. Their options in free agency could include Taylor Gabriel, Josh Gordon, or possibly even Antonio Brown.

Stills may not end up being moved, but if the Packers want to trade for a wide receiver, they need to take a look at him. Only time will tell, but this is certainly something to keep an eye on as training camp continues to move forward.
