The Washington Wizards have playoff aspirations for whenever the 2020-21 season starts since All-Star point guard John Wall will be back in the lineup next to superstar shooting guard Bradley Beal. Wall was set to miss the entire 2019-20 campaign recovering from his Achilles tear.

Next season, Beal will make $28.7 million and Wall will earn $41.3 million. The Wizards are PRAYING their two stars can stay healthy and lead the franchise back to the playoffs in the Eastern Conference.

With Wall coming back next season, it makes no sense for Washington to move Beal this summer unless they can deal Wall as well and embark on a full-scale rebuild, which is unlikely to happen. After re-signing Davis Bertans in free agency, the Wizards should look to trade for more shooters to surround Wall and Beal with.

Detroit Pistons small forward Tony Snell is the ideal swingman for the Wizards to acquire this summer. He's one of the best 3-point shooters in the NBA and plays high-level defense. The 28-year-old shot 40.2 percent from beyond the arc this season with the Pistons and made 102 3s in 59 games.

That's the type of production the Wizards need from their sniper alongside Wall and Beal, two of the best drivers in the NBA.

If Washington was able to acquire Snell, the team could have a starting lineup of Wall, Beal, Snell, Bertans and Thomas Bryant next season. The Pistons may be willing to part ways with Snell for a late first-round pick or an early second-rounder since they are in rebuild mode after trading All-Star center Andre Drummond to the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Snell is your prototypical 3-and-D wing. He’s a stout defender who can guard positions one through four and his 3-point shooting makes him a valuable asset. The Wizards would be wise to acquire Snell because he’s another floor spacer for Wall and Beal. The California native flourished in catch-and-shoot situations with the Pistons this season since he was playing with Derrick Rose, one of the best slashers in the league.

One can only imagine the open looks Snell will have on the Wizards playing alongside not one, but two elite players.

Tony Snell is the perfect shooter to roam around the arc and get open through back screens while John Wall and Bradley Beal are operating and collapsing the paint. He's a career 38.5 percent shooter from deep.
