The NBA's All-Star festivities has always been a much anticipated affair for basketball fans. Some of the events have certainly lost it's luster (seriously, who looks forward to watching the Skills Challenge?). Overall, though, the All-Star weekend is a much-awaited event, especially the NBA All-Star Game held on the last day.

Recently, a leak of the reported jersey for the 2022 NBA All-Star Game was leaked. If this turns out to be the actual jerseys that will be used… well, that's not a good sign. (via Legion Hoops)

These jerseys are, for lack of a better term, awful. Fans clowned on last year's NBA All-Star jersey for looking like a kid's jersey, but this one looks even worse. It looks like a cheap knock-off jersey you can find at the thrift shop. It's bland, uninteresting, and does not catch anyone's eye.

What makes this even more disappointing is the fact that this year is all about the NBA's 75th year. If they use this NBA All-Star jersey for the league's 75th anniversary, either the creative minds have lost their eyesight or the NBA doesn't care anymore. Frankly, either option is scary to think about.

The good news is that these jerseys could very well be not legit at all, and won't be used in the NBA All-Star game. The source credited in Legion Hoops' tweet, Matthew Moreno, reportedly found this at a local store in Los Angeles. If it looks like a cheap knock-off made by an amateur looking to make a quick buck… that's because it likely is.

There's plenty of inspirations for what the NBA could instead do for the All-Star jerseys. One idea for a “throwback” style jersey was suggested by a Twitter user. This would be in line with the NBA's whole 75th anniversary thing.

Or better yet, just go completely old-school and have the NBA All-Stars play in their team's jersey. Team A plays with the light jerseys, while Team B plays with the dark jerseys. You know, a homage to the classic All-Star games.

Just, please, for the love of God and every basketball fan in this planet, don't use these jerseys for the game. The NBA has already done a marvelous job at making the All-Star Game more interesting to watch (adding real-life stakes to the game, captains drafting their teams). It would be a shame if the games got tainted with this… abomination of a jersey.
