After Otto Porter Jr. signed the offer sheet extended to him by the Brooklyn Nets, it has now been forwarded to the Washington Wizards, for them to decide if they will match it or not, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.

Despite news that came out that the Wizards will most likely not allow him to be snagged by Brooklyn, the offer sheet reportedly includes some wrinkles in it, designed to discourage the Wizards from matching.

According to Zach Lowe of ESPN, the Nets are making the decision more difficult for the Wizards as the possible contract for Porter will have the team pay half of his annual salary every October 1st, which is almost a month before a new season starts. It reportedly also has a 15 percent trade kicker, which will almost prevent the Nets or Wizards from trading him in the future, to avoid paying around $15 million.

This definitely shows how much the Nets want Porter’s services. Even with the addition of D’Angelo Russell and Timofey Mozgov, the team is still being projected to have one of the worst records in the league this coming season. However, the potential addition of the 24-year-old swingman will give them stability at the small forward position, and he could become the focal point of their offense for the coming years.

The Nets understand that they are at a disadvantage knowing that Porter is a restricted free agent, but they will not go down without a fight, and are doing their best to land his services. The Wizards have until midnight (EST) on Saturday to match the offer, or see him walk away, which is hard to imagine them doing as Porter is arguably their most important player outside of John Wall and Bradley Beal.
