For former Overwatch pro Felix “xQc” Lengyel, an early look into Overwatch 2 has not left the best of impressions. On Twitch, he even commented “it's the same game” while watching a snippet of pro players showcasing some early gameplay. His reaction on stream was less than excited as he watched the gameplay video. “I don't know how to feel about this,” xQc said, looking and sounding confused as the match unfolded.

The clip had been from a showmatch from pro players around the scene, held a few days after the Overwatch League 2021 grand finals on September 25. Overwatch 2‘s official preview had already been launched back then, but a lot of the backlash came only after the playtest.

Indeed, many fans in the community were just as stumped as xQc. The playtest video was bombarded with comments and a drastic amount of dislikes. While xQc's reaction on stream wasn't ecstatic to begin with, the huge amount of dislikes still gave him quite the shock. The former Dallas Fuel player did not comment further, though, closing the video after skimming the comments section.

The sequel has given a refreshed new look to some maps like Havana, yet several aspects of the gameplay still look and feel largely the same as the original Overwatch. It's no surprise then that famous figures and fans alike are left wondering just how much Overwatch 2 will differ and be an upgrade over its predecessor.

Still, the community is abuzz with getting to try out something new, with the sequel announced in 2019. They can only hope that the changes were well worth the wait.
