Victor Oladipo's road to full recovery has been long and arduous, but former Indiana Pacers star Paul George thinks he's doing just fine taking his time returning from injury. The now Los Angeles Clippers forward suffered a compound fracture of his right leg in 2014 after crashing into the stanchion during a White vs. Blue Team USA scrimmage, missing the vast part of an entire season before returning for the last six games of the 2014-15 campaign.

Oladipo has been out of action since Jan. 23 when he suffered a ruptured quad tendon in his right knee. Since then, Oladipo scouted for the best surgeon for the job and kickstarted his rehab in Miami, knowing it would be a long road back. George liked this strategy:

“I thought that was awesome they gave him the opportunity to kind of clear his head and go through that process in a warm climate,” said George, according to Scott Agness of The Athletic. “It worked. The sun does amazing things on the body.”

George had some sound advice for ‘Dipo after his own experience:

“I just told him, ‘Come back on your own time,’” said George. “Whenever he returns, just make sure he’s healthy. He’s got a long career — a long, hopefully healthy, super-healthy career. He’s got a lot of upside going for him. I think Vic hasn’t scratched the surface. He’s really good. I just want him to be comfortable when it’s his time to come back.”

Oladipo is known to have one of the better work ethics in the NBA, and while he's working hard to rejoin his team, he's also being smart to avoid re-aggravating his injury. George is fully confident that Oladipo will make a full recovery and only get better.

The Pacers are keeping Oladipo's timeline a secret, for the time being, hoping to take the pressure off their franchise star. Yet Oladipo is itching to come back, now nearly 11 months removed from the time of his injury.
