The Indiana Pacers haven't ruled out big man Domantas Sabonis returning for the 2020 playoffs despite listing him as out indefinitely, per Eric Woodyard of ESPN.

Sabonis isn't in Orlando with the Pacers, as he's getting treatment on his foot injury. Indiana will face the Miami Heat in the first round of the playoffs in a matchup between the four and five seed.

The Pacers will be underdogs against the Heat, but if Sabonis can play, Indiana may be able to pull off an upset.

In 62 games for the Pacers this season, Sabonis is averaging 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 34.8 minutes a night. The versatile lefty is also shooting 54.0 percent from the field, 25.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free-throw line.

While Victor Oladipo is the most talented player on the Pacers, Sabonis has been the most consistent producer over the last couple of seasons. Moreover, Oladipo is still making his way back from that serious knee injury he suffered in 2018-19, so he's not at his normal All-Star self yet.

With that said, Pacers fans will continue to hope that Domantas Sabonis can make a quick recovery and play in the playoffs, although they'll understand if he can't. Plantar fasciitis is a difficult injury to play through, particularly for big men.
