Domantas Sabonis was acquired in the Paul George trade last offseason by the Indiana Pacers, and has turned out to be much more than the throw-in many viewed him as. Not only has he become a key part of the Pacers, he is beginning to look like one of the most talented young big men in the entire NBA.

Indiana has seen Sabonis record a double-double in each of their first two games this season. Unfortunately, they will be without Sabonis in their third game against the Brooklyn Nets.

According to a report from the Indiana Pacers' official Twitter account, Sabonis will miss tonight's game due to a bruised right knee.

Sabonis' absence will likely mean a much larger workload than normal for Myles Turner, who recently signed a four-year, $72 million contract extension with the Pacers. It could also mean that Kyle O'Quinn, who the Pacers signed in free agency this offseason, will receive some playing time.

Indiana is also hoping that second-year forward T.J. Leaf will be able to return to the court to log some minutes this evening.

Throughout the first two games of the season, Sabonis has averaged 13.0 points, 14.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He has shot 64.7 percent from the field and showed off a much-improved post game.

The team will need a healthy Sabonis. He may come off the bench, but he might just be the biggest X-Factor for Indiana's chances. Sabonis definitely has made the Pacers' second unit one of the most lethal in the Eastern Conference.

Expect to see Domantas Sabonis back in action on Monday night when the team hits the road to take on the Minnesota Timberwolves.
