Indiana Pacers big man Domantas Sabonis is on his way back to the Orlando bubble, per Scott Agness of Field House Files.

Sabonis was visiting a foot specialist and getting treatment for plantar fasciitis. He hasn't played since the bubble games started on July 30.

The Pacers need to win Games 3 and 4 to even up the series against the Heat. It would be pretty awkward if Indiana gets bounced by the Heat by the time Sabonis clears quarantine.

Sabonis appeared in 62 games for the Pacers during the 2019-20 regular season before games were suspended in March due to COVID-19. The talented lefty, a first-time All-Star, put up 18.5 points, 12.4 rebounds and 5.0 assists in 34.8 minutes a night while shooting 54.0 percent from the field, 25.4 percent from beyond the arc and 72.3 percent from the free throw line.

If the Pacers can even up the series by winning Games 3 and 4 and Sabonis is able to return for Game 5, we may have a new series between Indiana and Miami. However, since there are no fans at Disney World, there is no guarantee the Pacers will win Games 3 and 4.

With the games being at a neutral site, the Heat have better odds of sweeping the Pacers since they are the better team.

Since entering the NBA, Domantas Sabonis has compiled averages of 12.1 points, 8.0 rebounds and 2.6 assists with the Oklahoma City Thunder and Pacers.

ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski is reporting there is “no expectation” Sabonis joins the active roster even if the Pacers are still alive following the All-Star's quarantine.
