Indiana Pacers wing Glenn Robinson III has undergone ankle surgery which will keep him out until the middle of December, ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski reports.

Robinson III had missed most of training camp and the preseason with a high ankle sprain, and the necessity now for a surgical procedure will extend his original two-month timetable on a return for an additional two to four weeks, league sources said.

Robinson suffered the injury Sept. 29 in a scrimmage during practice, crumbling to the floor after a drive to the basket.

Glenn Robinson III emerged as a key part of the Pacers rotation last season. He averaged 6.1 points and 3.6 rebounds in 20.7 minutes and shot 39 percent on 3-pointers. He is expected to play a significant role at small forward this season after the departure of Paul George.

With Robinson out, the Pacers will miss the only wing on the roster who can both effectively shoot the 3-pointer and competently defend the position.

Bojan Bogdanovic will start and play significant minutes at small forward for the Pacers while Glenn Robinson III is out. Before signing with Indiana this offseason, Bogdanovic spent last season with the Brooklyn Nets and the Washington Wizards, averaging 13.7 points and 3.4 rebounds while shooting 37 percent from beyond the arc.

Lance Stephenson and Damien Wilkins also figure to see minutes at small forward for the Pacers in the interim.
