Apart from recording their fifth consecutive win on Sunday night, the Indiana Pacers also finally put an end to an ugly skid with their inspiring 115-107 victory over the Denver Nuggets at the Pepsi Center.

As it turns out, the Pacers haven't had much success playing in the Mile High City, going winless in Denver for nearly 13 years. Indiana finally broke that spell, notching their first road victory against the Nuggets since November 27, 2007.

A big reason for Indiana's reversal of fortunes was the overall play of their budding star Domantas Sabonis, who recorded his first career triple-double. The 23-year-old Lithuanian big led the way with 22 points, 15 rebounds and 10 assists while knocking down 10 of his 16 field goal attempts.

He was particularly effective in the second half and held his own against Nuggets All-Star center Nikola Jokic, who put up 30 points, 10 rebounds and four assists in a losing effort.

Indy shared the wealth all game long, as five players finished in double-figure scoring. Doug McDermott had 24 points built on six threes, while TJ Warren and Malcolm Brogdon had 22 markers apiece. Justin Holiday also came off the bench and gave the team a huge boost with 14 points.

With their best player Victor Oladipo missing significant time as he recovers from the ruptured quad tendon he suffered last season, the Pacers were expected to struggle against their much improved Eastern Conference counterparts this year. However, the scrappy team coached by Nate McMillan got by just fine, currently holding the fifth spot in the standings with a 28-15 slate.

The team's offseason signee Malcolm Brogdon has held the fort in Oladipo's stead, while TJ Warren and Jeremy Lamb have been pleasant surprises as well. The team's imposing frontcourt of Myles Turner and Domantas Sabonis has also been solid so far.

The Pacers are bracing for a possible deep playoff run, especially with Oladipo returning to the fold on January 29.
