The NBA released its schedule for the 2019-20 season earlier this week, which led to a cavalcade of schedule reveals from all teams in the NBA. Multiple teams opted to unveil their schedules in video form in the style of the ubiquitous Netflix menu, including the Indiana Pacers. The Pacers were ousted by the Boston Celtics with ease in last year’s playoffs, but Boston looks far different than they did last year due to the departures of Kyrie Irving and Al Horford to the Brooklyn Nets and Philadelphia 76ers, respectively.

The Pacers schedule reveal made note of that fact by poking fun at a famous film set in Boston.

As you can see, Martin Scorsese’s The Departed is the film in question, yet in place of Matt Damon and Leonardo DiCaprio, the stars of the film, Irving and Horford take their place. In the background, Brad Stevens skulks behind the two stars as the Jack Nicholson character.

If we’re being honest, if that film was released in direct competition with LeBron James’s Space Jam 2, one would be hard-pressed to choose between the two.

Digressions aside, this was a brilliant way to for the Pacers to reveal their schedule, and the social media team involved deserves serious plaudits. To add in that fairly spicy burn on their inter-conference rival the Celtics is a welcome bonus.

Of course, the games will eventually decide who wins this preseason battle of wills, as both the Pacers and Celtics will look far different on the court than they did last year.
