Recently acquired Indiana Pacers guard Malcolm Brogdon told NBATV on Tuesday that he “didn't really know where” he was going to land in free agency.

Brogdon, 26, was a restricted free agent entering the open market in the offseason. Many across the league expected the former Rookie of the Year winner to stay with the Milwaukee Bucks following Brogdon's season with the Eastern Conference Finals runner-ups.

The 6-foot-5 combo guard was a key contributor on a Bucks team led by reigning league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Instead, the Bucks opted to re-sign center Brook Lopez and one-time All-Star forward Khris Middleton. Milwaukee also signed Brook's brother Robin, another center, and free agent veteran shooting guard Wesley Matthews to a minimum deal.

They completed a sign-and-trade with Indiana to send Brogdon, the franchise's second round selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, in exchange for a future first-round and second-round picks.

Brogdon signed an $85 million contract for four years with the Indianapolis organization.

He averaged 15.6 points, 4.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists in 28.6 minutes per game last season in 64 appearances. Brogdon also shot 50.5% from the floor, 42.6% from 3-point range, and 92.8% from the free throw line, leading the league in that regard.

The Pacers also signed free agent forward Jeremy Lamb. Indiana lost Bojan Bogdanovic, Thaddeus Young, Kyle O'Quinn, and Cory Joseph in free agency this summer.

Guard Tyreke Evans was suspended by the league for an illegal substance violation.
