The Indiana Pacers suffered a huge blow on Thursday against the Toronto Raptors, as their starting center, Myles Turner, suffered an ankle injury in the first half. He was still able to return to action after halftime but was forced to exit the game early, after re-aggravating it, according to the Pacers' official report.

Coach McMillan says Myles Turner has a high ankle sprain. “There was a lot of swelling at halftime. Tried to go. Came out third quarter and was able to play. Reaggravated it and couldn’t return.”

The Indianapolis team has been one of the surprise bunches in the NBA this season. Not a lot of people thought of them as a team that could make the playoffs, and even end up with a top-four seed in the Eastern Conference. However, that has been the case for them so far, as their current record of 40-29 is good for fourth place, with only 13 games left on their schedule.

Much of the credit for their success has been given to the solid play of Turner and Victor Oladipo, who has led their charge, producing impressive numbers night in and night out. Should Turner be forced to miss some time, the All-Star shooting guard will have to take on an even bigger role for the Pacers, as he is expected to be their focal point until the 6-foot-11 big man will be back on the court.

With Domantas Sabonis also injured and already missing Thursday's game, Al Jefferson and Trevor Booker should both see an uptick in their usage moving forward.
