The Indiana Pacers announced Tuesday that TJ Warren remains out indefinitely as he continues to recover from the stress fracture that prematurely ended his 2020-21 season. While that raised some concerns, the veteran forward made sure to address the issue and ease the worry of fans.

After the announcement was made, Warren took to Twitter to assure Pacers fans that he is making sure he's doing everything right in his rehab to get back to action sooner rather than later.

“Pacer fans. Just wanted you to hear this straight from me. I’m making sure I do this rehab process right so that I can get back on the court as soon as I can and be the best that I can,” Warren wrote.

For what it's worth, the Pacers clarified in their injury update that the stress fracture in Warren's left foot “is healing during the rehabilitation process.” Unfortunately, the only issue is it's “not at the pace previously anticipated.”

With the current outlook, it is highly possible that TJ Warren misses the 2021-22 season opener in October and probably beyond. The Pacers will surely take a cautious approach before allowing the 28-year-old to be back on the floor, so Rick Carlisle and Co. will likely keep him out until he is fully healthy and comfortable to play after a long time on the sidelines.

Warren played in just four games in the past campaign before being sidelined with the said left foot stress fracture. He underwent surgery last January and has been ruled out indefinitely since then.

Of course the development is a big blow to the Pacers, who are looking to have a better season after years of first-round playoffs exits. Warren is one of the team's better scorers and if he's sidelined once again, Carlisle will have to dig deep into his roster to find a suitable replacement.
