Indiana Pacers guard Victor Oladipo is having quite a season with his new team. He is putting up solid numbers on a nightly basis for the Pacers, as he is averaging 24.8 points, 4.1 assists, 5.3 rebounds, and 1.9 steals per game — all career-highs for the former Indiana Hoosier.

Oladipo was at his best again this past Saturday, when the 25-year-old shooting guard made an all-around performance for the ages, coming up with 23 points on 9-of-11 shooting from the field to go with six rebounds, nine assists, and five steals.

It was an all-around masterpiece for Victor Oladipo, who, thanks to that performance, became the first Pacers player ever to make at least 20 points, five boards, five assists, and five steals in more than one game in a season. His first 20-5-5-5 game since joining the Pacers came on Nov. 20, when he had 29 points, nine rebounds, five assists, and seven steals in a 105-97 road win over the Orlando Magic.

With the benefit of hindsight, Pacers general manager Kevin Pritchard’s decision to trade their then-incandescent star Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder back in July for the pair of Oladipo and Domantas Sabonis seems to be a fine idea for Indiana.

That transaction was brutally panned by experts and fans alike with the Pacers then believed to be getting very little in return for a player of George's caliber. Victor Oladipo in particular, however, is playing so well right now that he is making Pritchard look like either a front office savant or just one damn lucky man.
