Speaking to reporters on Thursday, Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo said he's doing “way better” than the last time he talked.

Oladipo is recovering from a ruptured quad tendon in his knee. The Pacers star suffered the injury on Jan. 23 against the Toronto Raptors.

The Pacers are still unsure when Oladipo will play again. Indiana is being cautious with the high-flyer since he's the franchise player.

Oladipo averaged 18.8 points, 5.6 rebounds and 5.2 assists for the Pacers last season before he got hurt. The All-Star shot 42.3 percent from the field, 34.3 percent from beyond the arc and 73.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Indiana got swept by the Boston Celtics in the first round of the 2019 playoffs without Oladipo. The Pacers struggled to score the ball in the fourth quarter sans their closer.

Through their first 14 games this season, the Pacers are 8-6, which is good for sixth place in the Eastern Conference standings. Combo guard Malcolm Brogdon has been playing very well in the absence of Oladipo. He's putting up 19.2 points, 4.8 rebounds and 8.2 assists per game while shooting 46.4 percent from the floor, 30.8 percent from the 3-point line and 98.0 percent from the charity stripe.

Once Oladipo returns to the lineup, the Pacers will have a good chance of securing a top seed in the East.
