It appears Victor Oladipo and new Indiana Pacers head coach Nate Bjorkgren are already on the same page even though the All-Star shooting guard has yet to even play a game for his new coach.

According to Marc Berman of the New York Post, Oladipo has forged a strong relationship with Bjorkgren, causing some teams around the NBA to abandon their pursuit of the high-flyer in trade talks.

According to sources, Oladipo is not as available as he might have been over the summer. He quickly has forged a strong relationship with Pacers new coach Nate Bjorkgren, but the 2019 All-Star is in the final year of his contract.

Victor Oladipo has been linked to the Miami Heat and New York Knicks. The scoring guard has one year left on his contract with the Pacers.

During the 2019-20 season, Oladipo only appeared in 19 games since he spent most of the season rehabbing the knee injury he suffered in 2018-19 against the Toronto Raptors. The two-time All-Star averaged 14.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.9 assists per game while shooting 39.4 percent from the field, 31.7 percent from beyond the arc and 81.4 percent from the free-throw line.

The Pacers got swept by the Heat in the first round of the 2020 playoffs at Walt Disney World. Nate McMillan was fired as head coach after the team got back to Indiana from Orlando. The franchise hired Bjorkgren and is hoping he can be the guy who convinces Oladipo to stay in Indy for the long haul.
