Indiana Pacers shooting guard Victor Oladipo told reporters on Friday that he's optimistic about playing in the team's first seeding game on Saturday against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Oladipo has participated in every practice in Orlando and started all three Pacers scrimmages. However, the All-Star won't fully commit to playing in the seeding games until game day arrives.

“I felt good today,” Victor Oladipo told Pacers reporters. “So we'll see what tomorrow brings. It's a day-by-day thing, but I'm optimistic.”

In the 13 games he played in before the 2019-20 season was suspended in March, Oladipo averaged 13.8 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per contest for the Pacers. He also shot 39.1 percent from the field, 30.4 percent from beyond the arc and 78.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Oladipo missed the beginning of the season recovering from his gruesome knee injury, so he wasn't in full rhythm when the season was suspended due to COVID-19.

It appears Dipo is going to play in the seeding games, which is a good thing because all hell would break loose if the former Indiana Hoosiers star sat out the real games after playing in the scrimmage games.

Oladipo becomes an unrestricted free agent in the summer of 2021. The Pacers tried to sign him to a contract extension before the 2019-20 season started, but those talks didn't go too far.

It will be interesting to see if the 28-year-old star and Indiana can reach an agreement once the 2020 offseason period starts.
