The Indiana Pacers will re-evaluate All-Star guard Victor Oladipo “in about a month,'” as head coach Nate McMillan told reporters ahead of their regular-season opener against the Detroit Pistons.

While the updates provided about Oladipo's recovery process sound intriguing, it's important to note that they align with his expected progression. There has never been an exact timetable for Oladipo's projected return to the lineup, although the Pacers are expecting he'll be ready some time in December or January.

During the Pacers' media day in late September, McMillan did state that “there's no timetable” for Oladipo return and that he wasn't expecting him to practice live “anytime soon.”

“I don't anticipate Victor being available for a while, and I don't know what a while is,” McMillan said. “There's no timetable. “I haven't had any information given to me that he will be practicing live anytime soon.”

The fact that Oladipo hasn't suffered a setback in his recovery is intriguing. It's also worth noting that he does seem to be on the ‘quicker' end of the spectrum when it comes to expectations. He has participated in half-court 5-on-5 twice this week, whcih is a step in the right direction.

It remains unknown when exactly Oladipo will return to the lineup for the Pacers. He is expected to be on a minutes restriction for a while following his return, so it's unclear how effective he will be this season or if he will need longer than a full season to find his form like Gordon Hayward.
