Victor Oladipo has been making a lot of noise despite being in the offseason, as he was part of the trade that sent Paul George to the Oklahoma City Thunder. Another reason for him making headlines is his budding singing career, and releasing his first single earlier in the summer.

On Wednesday, he released another track, which included a message to President Donald Trump.

With all the criticism the commander-in-chief is receiving these days, Oladipo used a different platform to send his message across, and not through interviews or social media, which has been the medium of choice by a lot of athletes. The track is titled “Rope A Dope,” and also features rapper 2 Chainz, and talks about not judging someone, as people go through different paths before reaching where they are now.

“You ain't never been where I been, you can't tell me what I saw. All I know is I'm the coldest. I been through so much I feel like I'm ready for war and I will fight until the end because I know what I'm fighting for.”

“So wave your flags, you don't want no smoke because everything you got still won't come close. I came into this world with my back against the ropes, so watch this footwork, it's the rope a dope.”

The Indiana Pacers guard then issued an official press release, which explains why he opted to use his music to make his message to Trump known publicly, via Alysha Tsuji of USA Today Sports.

“I wanted to address what was going on and bring awareness to it, but in a positive manner. I want people to feel inspired and motivated to be great, and to stand up and have confidence. We need to come together as a country to deal with these problems. We aren't going to solve anything unless we're united.”

It remains to be seen how the fans will accept his latest single, but with all the attention players like him are getting from their comments and messages to the president, it won't be surprising if it will become a popular song in the weeks to come.
