The Indiana Pacers are reshuffling the roster early in the season by waiving power forward Ben Moore and recalling center Ike Anigbogu per official release on NBA.com. The release states:

“The Indiana Pacers announced Saturday they have waived forward Ben Moore.

“In addition, the Pacers have recalled center Ike Anigbogu from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, their affiliate in the NBA G League.”

Teams across the NBA are making these same minor moves that Indiana is making due to the start of the NBA's G League season. Moore didn't play a single minute for the Pacers this season, so this move isn't completely surprising. He could still wind up with Indiana's G-League affiliate, the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. It's unclear what comes next for Ben Moore.

Anigbogu, on the other hand, has an opportunity to prove himself at the NBA level. He's only played in 12 career games and his minutes have been extremely limited in those games. He could be relegated to the end of the bench, but the 20-year-old still brings substantial upside.

Anigbogu was the Pacers second round draft choice in 2017 and he came to Indiana by way of UCLA. He's still a very raw player, but he possesses the type of athleticism and length that is necessary to become a rim-runner in today's league. He still needs more polish and in all likelihood, more reps in the G League, but he's a guy to keep an eye on.

The Pacers reshuffling makes sense in the long-term.
