The Indiana Pacers are reportedly looking to move veteran point guard Cory Joseph in an effort to get rookie guard Aaron Holiday more playing time, according to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer.

Cory Joseph is in the final year of his contract. He is making $7.95 million this season.

I think this may have been reported. But if it hasn’t: Cory Joseph was a guy they could be looking to. They do like [Aaron] Holiday and he is somebody they want to get more playing time.”

Holiday is averaging 5.3 points, 1.5 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game this season. The 22-year-old is shooting 41.7 percent from the field, 26.2 percent from beyond the arc and 88.5 percent from the free-throw line.

Holiday is playing only roughly 10 minutes per game. The Pacers have Cory Joseph and Darren Collison ahead of him on the depth chart, but if Joseph is moved, Holiday would become the primary backup to Collison at the point guard spot.

In 44 games this season for the Pacers, Cory Joseph is averaging 7.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game. The eight-year veteran is shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 38.1 percent from the 3-point line and 63.6 percent from the foul line.

The Pacers are 29-15 on the year, good third place in the Eastern Conference standings. Indiana would likely want draft compensation in return for Cory Joseph.
